FHN staff,
Welcome to the summer newsletter!
Firstly, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Andy Matson and I have had the honour of recently being elected as the new Vice President of FHN Germany. I first started working and volunteering for FHN in March 2018 and met with Martin Eckhardt in Ghana at the Huttel Health Centre. We had a fabulous two weeks there teaching and training with the medical and nursing staff in Boamadomase and a true friendship was born between myself and Martin which I hope will carry FHN forward for many years to come. I then returned to Ghana at the New Year in 2019 to continue work began by Martin and I. We have been in regular contact since then and through the COVID pandemic and I am delighted to be working with him and all the board at FHN Germany.
Secondly, we had a very successful and positive board meeting in Sweden in May 2026 and it was an absolute pleasure to work with such inspiring and like minded people who truly care deeply about the organisation. The board thoroughly looked through the projects and how to develop each of these as well as the direction and advancement of FHN Germany whilst keeping firmly to its founding principles. I look forward to you reading about the exciting developments and ongoing work on each of our projects in Ghana, Nepal, Rwanda and Ecuador on this website.
And finally as always it is with sincere thanks I extend to all volunteers here in Germany and Sweden as well as those in the projects, all members, and donors for their commitment and hard work! You are the people who mean the most to our small organisation and without your dedication and support we really could not function and deliver the amazing projects throughout the world and bringing such change to the people of these communities.
As a member of FHN, please spread the word of our aid organisation among your acquaintances, friends, and family, and thus recruit new interested parties and members. This has been one of our recipes for success from the very beginning. The membership application can be downloaded from https://f-h-n.org/machmit/spenden. Fill it out, print it, and send it in. Less than €6 per month for an individual membership makes a huge difference to us! Anyone who reads our annual reports carefully knows that we have had very low administrative costs since we began our work. And we intend to keep it that way. Will you join us and become a new member?
